Ben has experience across a multitude of sectors and geographies having been a corporate financier for nearly 30 years. He has particular expertise in the Business and Support Services sectors and has advised numerous companies on M&A and capital raisings for public and private companies over the course of his career.
One of the co-founders of Smith Square Partners, Ben spent the early years of his career at J Henry Schroder Wagg where he worked from 1989 before joining Barclays de Zoete Wedd in 1996, until it was acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston where he was appointed a Managing Director. Having played his part as a Managing Director in the development and ultimate sale of Hawkpoint Partners between 2002 and 2010, Ben was well positioned to establish Smith Square Partners with John Craven in 2010.
Ben’s insights into corporate life have been enhanced by his roles until recently as a non-executive director of Homeserve plc and Alternative Networks plc. He has an MA in Geography and Law from Cambridge University and is a Barrister.
