At Smith Square Partners Jonathan Haslam CBE assists with communications advice to the firm. He also looks for opportunities to extend the firm’s network and personal contacts with key decision makers, supplementing the efforts of the partners.
Jonathan was formerly Director of Communications for the then Prime Minister John Major and worked in No 10 for over six years. He held positions in seven government departments. At the Cabinet Office he was responsible for designing the Government’s communications response to the Arms to Iraq inquiry.
In the private sector Jonathan took the lead role in reputation building for the London Metal Exchange and he has worked for FTSE 100 and 250 companies. He is Managing Director of Haslamedia Ltd, a communications consultancy dealing with complex financial, corporate and governmental affairs. Between 2006 and 2010 he designed and implemented the communications, activities of the Office of the Policyholder Advocate in a £5 billion insurance project.
Jonathan is an experienced media and political commentator and frequently appears on television and radio. He has an Honours degree in Geography and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
