Paul is a highly experienced banking professional whose work has brought him into contact with a great range of sectors, products, people and geographies. His career began with blue chip financial institutions including S G Warburg and later Barclays. He became a specialist in advising financial institutions and worked with major insurance companies such as Prudential and Sun Life of Canada, and banks including HSBC and Santander.
From 2014 to 2019 Paul was General Manager, Institutional Banking, responsible for Europe and the Middle East, with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). There he led the CBA’s business in five key sectors: financial institutions; infrastructure; natural resources; transport; and defence.
Paul is Vice-Chair, and former Chairman, of the Association of Foreign Banks, and sits on both the Advisory Council of TheCityUK and the Financial Services Council of the Confederation of British Industry. He is a Freeman and Lieutenant of the City of London.
